STRATFORD FACTORY PRODUCTIONS presents ABSOLUTE ALICE, a modern adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s classic tale, ALICE IN WONDERLAND. True to the timeless characters and whimsical words of the original, this contemporary re-imagining takes a provocative trip down the rabbit hole into Toronto’s underground.
ABSOLUTE ALICE was originally staged by the SCSS Players for the Sears Ontario Drama Festival, to numerous accolades at the SEARS DRAMA FESTIVAL PROVINCIAL SHOWCASE in 2009.

Are you unique? Quirky? Maybe a little strange? Tired of being turned down for an awesome role because you’re too tall, too short, too round, too tattooed? Do you have vibrant energy and theatrical diversity? Awesome. We are looking for talented actors with this kind of remarkable personality and physicality!
STRATFORD FACTORY PRODUCTIONS is auditioning for the SUMMER 2012 TORONTO FRINGE production of ABSOLUTE ALICE, a modern adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s classic tale, ALICE IN WONDERLAND. True to the timeless characters and whimsical words of the original, this contemporary take provides an offbeat look at Alice’s journey down the rabbit hole.
We are seeking adult actors of any age, gender, ethnicity, appearance or physicality for twenty specific or ensemble roles including:
ALICE, THE KING & QUEEN OF HEARTS, THE CHESHIRE CAT, THE WHITE RABBIT, THE MAD HATTER, THE CATERPILLAR, as well as THE BIRDS, TURTLES, GRYPHONS, COOKS and CARDS that inhabit Carroll’s wondrously strange universe.
Auditions will be held Sunday April 15th to Tuesday March 18th from 10 AM to 6PM.
The show runs during the SUMMER 2012 TORONTO FRINGE from July 4th to 15th, with part-time rehearsals beginning early-to-mid May. The exact show dates and venue are TBA. Rehearsals will be held Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons/evenings in downtown Toronto, with additional rehearsals and tech occurring during the final week of June until the production opens.
This is an ensemble production. Those cast may be required to play a few different roles. As such, full availability for all rehearsal dates may be required for some cast members.
New regulations between the Toronto Fringe and Equity allow this production to be run as a profit-share under the new festival policy.
Cast members will be encouraged to assist with promotion and publicity efforts.
